Yesterday I met Carroll and Lisa at the General Store in Oldwick for lunch. We were meeting so that Carroll could give Lisa her shower present. Carroll was in France when Lisa has her baby shower. The General Store has the largest sandwich of anywhere I've been. One sandwich is good for two lunches (and as expensive as two lunches.) I had a Ham and Swiss Cheese panini with honey mustard that was very good.
Carroll got Lisa the cutest little outfit. The pants looked like the boxer shorts were sticking out from the top. She also got her a long sleeved onsie with French writing although it wasn't purchased in France.
Carroll's trip to France was productive. She was able to find a house cleaner for her property and she has quite a few people booked for the end of this year into next. One of these days I'm going to get there. It looks like a lovely place in a beautiful and charming little town in Provence.
Note: I found the picture on Flickr here. This photostream has more pictures of the charming little town of Oldwick in beautiful Tewskberry.
It's been a weird summer. Very cool - for New Jersey -; very rainy - for New Jersey -: and very quick - universal. I loved the fact that it was cool, I'm not a warm weather person. But the rain was not fun or good, surprisingly (at least for me), for the vegetable garden. Our very first vegetable garden. The tomatoes are only now starting to get red. We had very few cucumbers and no squash. Lots and lots of basil though. It really is nice to just walk out to the garden whenever you need some basil.
But now it's September. The days are getting shorter and the weather is starting to get just a hint of fall. I love fall - my favorite season that includes my favorite holidays: Halloween and Christmas.
The hard part is to actually do it! Steps:
Breakfast: 2 pieces of whole grain bread with one egg fried, American cheese and mayo
Lunch: Quinoa, corn, peas, mushrooms, onions and a bit of leftover caesar dressing and two cold shrimp with Sirachia mayo
Snack: 3 mini Hershey Special Dark chocolates
I think dinner is chicken
Tonight I'm getting a pedicure, should I keep light or go to the dark side. And SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE!

Well, at least today I had some things that were healthy.
We were married June 14, 1980. 29 years ago. It's been a long bumpy ride. Would I do it again? Yes, because otherwise there would be no Kathleen and Megan. Is it successful? Compared to who? It's a comfortable marriage, but after 29 years I guess that's not a bad thing. He's interesting and strange, but so am I. Well, at least strange. And -- he puts up with me!
